Enosh (Ee´nosh; Heb., “humanity” or “the human race”)

A name used to identify the son of Adam through whom the genealogies to Noah, Abraham, and eventually Jesus are traced (Gen 4:26; 1Chr 1:1). He is called Enos in Greek (LXX).

26To Seth also a son was born, and he named him Enosh. At that time people began to invoke the name of the Lord.
