Nebat (Nee´bat)

The name of the father of Israel’s king Jeroboam I (ca. 924–903 BCE). He is identified as an Ephraimite from Zeredah, modern Deir Ghassaneh, about ten miles west of Shiloh. He is mentioned several times in 1 and 2 Kings and 2 Chronicles.
