Orpah (Or´puh)

The sister-in-law of Ruth. In the book of Ruth, Naomi immigrates to Moab with her husband, Elimelech, and their two sons, one of whom marries Ruth and the other, Orpah. After all of the men die, Naomi moves back to Bethlehem; Ruth accompanies her, but Orpah does not (Ruth 1:1-14).
