The decorated ceramic tiles shown here are from the Takieh Mo’aven ol-Molk museum in Kermanshah, Iran. The scene shows Yusuf (Joseph) wearing a halo and sitting in one basket of the slaver’s scales. Yusuf was sold into slavery by his jealous brothers, eventually making his way to Egypt, where he rose to a position of authority.
