Hadad-rimmon

Hay´dad-rim´uhn

A name, probably a combination of the names for the Syrian gods Hadad and Rimmon. Hadad is equated with the storm god Baal in Ugaritic texts. Rimmon, an alternate name for Hadad, was worshiped in Damascus (2Kgs 5:18). The mourning to come in Jerusalem is compared to the ritual mourning for Hadad-rimmon at Megiddo (Zech 12:11).
