Jab´uhk

Modern Nahr es-Zerqa (Arabic, “the blue river”), one of the four major eastern tributaries of the Jordan. The Jabbok rises in Amman, flows northeast to modern Zerqa, and then west until it joins the Jordan twenty-five miles north of the Dead Sea. In (Gen 32:22-32), Jacob fights with his divine adversary at Penuel on the Jabbok.
