Agrippa


Uh-grip´uh

I, Herod Agrippa I, grandson of Herod the Great and ruler of Palestine from 41 to 44. He persecuted the early Christians and, according to (Acts 12), was responsible for the beheading of James the son of Zebedee and the imprisonment of Peter (Acts 12:1-4). His death is attributed to divine vengeance (Acts 12:20-23).
