Philemon

Fi-lee´muhn

A resident of Colossae and owner of the slave for whom Paul makes an appeal in his Letter to Philemon. He was converted by Paul (Phlm 1:19) and was associated with Paul’s mission as a “dear friend and co-worker” (Phlm 1:1). Since he was able to host a congregation (Phlm 1:2) and prepare a guest room for Paul (Phlm 1:22), he was an individual of substance.
